Requisitioned by Admiralty 11/1916 to 6/1919 and operated as the 'Q Ship' PRIVET, ALCALA, Q.19 and SWISHER. Sank the U-boat U.85 while serving as PRIVET. Sold in 1919 to Limerick S.S.Co., and renamed FOYNES. Sunk by Nationalist air attack while loading oranges at Valencia on 27 January 1939. Refloated on 23 November 1939 and renamed CASTILLO RIAZA in 1940 under Spanish government ownership.. Passed to Empresa Nacional 'Elcano' in 1942 and to Naviera de Nalon, Gijon in 1955. Renamed MINA SORRIEGO in 1959. |
